Stephan Genze is one of the main lecturers and leading forces within the Drumtrainer Berlin teaching team. A highly respected professional drummer with decades of experience, Stephan is also one of the busiest live musicians in Germany — constantly touring, recording and performing all over the world, from Australia to New York, from Berlin to the Harz Mountains.
He studied classical percussion in Berlin before continuing with jazz studies at the prestigious Berlin University of the Arts. Over the years, Stephan has performed in countless theatre, musical and orchestra productions, including the famous Wintergarten Varieté, the RIAS Big Band, the Filmorchester Babelsberg, the Neuköllner Oper and the Theater des Westens.
Stephan has worked with an impressive range of legendary artists including Bodo Wartke, Gitte Hænning, Bill Ramsey, Ack van Rooyen, Rolf Kühn, Reinhard Mey, Pe Werner, Ute Lemper, Roy Hargrove, Klaus Hoffmann, Katja Ebstein, Helen Schneider, Tim Fischer and Gunter Gabriel.
